The best low cost video camera I found that will give me great focusing, manual video options, and a mic input for the lowest price is the Canon Vixia HF 400 which I was able to get for about half price at the official Canon company refurbished item website.
I will be doing a review of the Canon after it comes and go into more detail why I bought it.

below is the text review of the lighting kit and more assembly hints not shown in my video.
REVIEW
I found the ephoto lighting kit to be close to what all of the reviewers on amazon were saying about it. The tripods are not robust, and the lighting heads seem fragile. one of the lights came dead. however, for the price, I do not see any problem I can not remedy or ignore. The fabric softbox parts were actually quite good and they are easy to adjust. Many Amazon reviewers complained as to how long the lights take to assemble and take apart. I found assembly is much quicker if the fabric softbox part is made first and then attached to the light stand. I am not aware of any other lightbox on the market that would be any more quicker to disassemble and store away.
the screws and bolts seemed near their stripping point after tightening them as needed. They should be more robust. The electrical cords were lengthy and seemed to be standard size., not puny as I have seen on some.
I did have trouble adding the lights and getting them all to come on in the first assembled head. When I added the lights it sounded as if there was grit in the bulb socket. Some of the bulbs did not work and I switched them around. Eventually all bulbs worked but one. I may have damaged it by twisting it from the top instead of at the base.When I assembled the other lights I made sure to hold the sockets upside down and blew air in them to dislodge any grit and cleaned the ends of the bulbs with a rag. The rag had some very light oil residue on it and made the bulbs screw in quite easily. None of the bulbs in the remaining two heads gave me any problems
The covers of the softbox have a lip that is pulled out so it goes over the edges of the softbox. I saw the Velcro and tried to attach the covers Velcro to vecro without opening the edges of the cover and it did not work until I saw the edges needed to unfold.
The pole for the hairlight needs to go through small holes on a cam and the cam is tightened up on the pole. At first I just put the pole in the large hole so the pole was loose in the hole. Once I saw how to open the cam and re insert the pole into the small hole it was easy. .
I did not use the ballast bag, I used a gallon water jug.
the height of the hair light pole is excellent. the lights come with fuse breakers and spare fuses. Overall, I could not have built a kit as good this one and saved very much money, and it would have taken me a while.
There are much better lighting kits available. But I did not find any that gave as good a value for such a low price. I think if I save the boxes the kit came in, after a few years when I am ready to move up I can probably sell this kit used and get most of my money back, while I doubt if I could have sold a used home built lighting kit.,so in the long run, the cost is even lower than it seems.

Last week I uploaded a video showing a very low cost lighting kit I purchased on amazon but forget to show the cheap DIY lighting kit I used for years. This video shows the simple lighting stands I used in the past made from old thrift store tripods I am able to get for just a few dollars as the heads do not work properly, however that does not matter as I only use them as cheap stands. I tape 2x2 lumber to them and use clamp on lights with sticks to secure the clamps to the 2 x 2 wood. it is a very low cost and effective means of lighting your video.
