In this video I compare the difference between Softbox lighting and LED lighting. You might be able to notice that the Softboxes produce softer light and I think this is because they have more diffusion material in this case.

Overall, I prefer LED's because they are more versatile and you can travel with them. Softboxes are less expensive, but they are heavier and cheaper built in most cases.
