We spend a lot of time in our kitchen, it's probably the most used room in house. The lights are on all the time. I like the chrome relective trims, and decided just to change the bulbs to LED's rather than the whole fixture. We have been using 65 watt FEIT incandecents, and replaced them by Fiet BR40 17watt ( 100 watt output ) warm white LED flood bulbs. The LED's are not quite as warm of a light as the incandecents but close.,The LED's take a split second delay before coming on, unlike CFL's they do not warm up, they snap on to full brightness right away. The LED's do not dim down as much as much as the incandecents. Howerver, they only use 17 watts instead of 65 watts each. The 65 watt incandecents on full bright created so much heat I can feel hot spots in the bathroom tile one story above the kitchen. These BR40's LED's are much brighter at full light. It makes finding the food the kids spilled on the floor much easier. We got these LED's at Costco for $ 20 dollars each. They have really come down in price, Amazon's still has them over $ 30 each. I've been following other reviewers recommendations. These are the best LED's I have found yet. They work indoor or outdoor. I will be getting more for the rest of the house.
