Here's a vid of my latest model project, a DRS class 68, which was originally 68003 but I've renumbered it to 68002 'Intrepid'. The loco has been detailed and has had the front panels repainted to the right shape. The lights are completely new using a PCB of my own design, featuring tiny SMDs and 2mm bi-colour 'lighthouse' LEDs for the main headlights. Internally, the lumpy chassis has been milled down to create more space for the speakers, which are a megabass type made by Roads and Rails. I've rewired the loco completely to accommodate a Loksound V4 sound decoder and an auxiliary Zimo MX685 function only decoder, to provide enough function outputs for all the lights. I've mapped them both so that F0 controls the main headlights (directionally) at the No.1 end, F6 controls the No.1 end 'Halos', and F7 controls the No.1 end cab lights. The lights are the same at the No.2 end, but with a 1 before each function number - e.g. F17 is No.2 end cab light.

I'm really happy with how the project has turned out, and it makes the most of the Dapol model, which has plenty of areas to improve upon!
